From its summit elevation of 4,009 ft. on a clear day you can see stunning views of Linville Gorge, Grandfather Mountain, Mount Mitchell, Table Rock and maybe even the city skyline of Charlotte, NC - which is 90 miles away! This majestic mountain's name comes from the illusion of a hawks bill emerging from the peak of the mountain side.
